How It Works
Not every job needs the same arrangement. A fixed price suits work where the scope is clear. A charge-up arrangement suits repairs or alterations where the full extent of the work only becomes clear once it starts. Which method applies is confirmed before anything begins.
AKL HandyBuild is owner-operated, with additional workers or specialist trades — electricians, plumbers, gasfitters, engineers and others — engaged according to what each project needs. Where a project needs additional expertise, suitable qualified or licensed trades are coordinated as part of the agreed scope, with a single point of contact throughout.
The pricing method and the people on site can both change with the project. The point of contact doesn't.
What We Do

Timber framing, structural carpentry and agreed new-build construction packages.

Before work starts, the agreed documents establish the scope, inclusions, exclusions, pricing basis, payment arrangements and expected programme. Proposed changes and unforeseen work are discussed, with their cost and timing effects recorded and approval obtained before the additional work proceeds.
Different arrangements apply for maintenance, renovations, extensions and new builds — there is no single deposit percentage or generic contract applied to every project. AKL HandyBuild is an owner-operated Auckland building business providing trade-qualified carpentry and Licensed Building Practitioner services for property owners and construction companies.
The building background includes work undertaken for other construction businesses as well as independently delivered projects, with hands-on experience across foundations, framing, cladding, repairs, renovations, outdoor construction and finishing carpentry.
AKL HandyBuild can carry out agreed building scopes, plan materials and coordinate additional qualified trades where required. For builders and main contractors, services include defined carpentry packages, framing, renovation work and subcontract or charge-up arrangements.
